About Dan

I retired from racing in 2016 and have been a triathlon coach and blogger since 2015. I currently work with self-coached athletes on running, cycling and triathlon programmes for all race distances, both remotely and face to face. I also conduct regular swim squad sessions as well as one-to-one swim tuition for those needing to get more out of the water, from beginners to experienced triathletes and open water swimmers. Process 3 athletes range from Challenge Roth participants to Age Group World Championship qualifiers with all types of beginners and first-timers in between.

I come from a swimming and cycling background, having started club swimming at the age of 11. I went on to compete at home town, university and county level in both swimming and water polo in England. I have ridden bikes my whole life: BMX, mountain bikes, road and time trial. I turned my focus to triathlon in 2008 and raced for 8 years, notably with five appearances in Age Group World Championships at Olympic Distance and 70.3. Having been a ‘Water Baby’ my whole life, I know first-hand what it takes to turn an athlete with limited weight-bearing experience into a runner and pride myself on the small additions to a training programme that can bring comfort and efficiency to a run gait.

I am a qualified Development Coach accredited to Triathlon Australia… Send me a message here.
